The Happiest Day
The sun shone brightly and beautifully on Thursday 1st October 2015, our wedding day.
On the day itself, I remember feeling a lot more calm than I imagined I would. I didn’t actually feel any nerves until myself and my bridal party made our way to the venue.
The moment I turned the corner in the beautiful walled garden of our venue Gaynes Park and saw all our loved ones and most importantly, my husband to be, Steve in the Orangery where the ceremony was taking place, I honestly felt a blanket of calmness wrap round me and I knew this was exactly where I was meant to be and what I was meant to be doing.
I never quite understood what people who were married meant, when they use to say to me ‘Make the most of every second of the day as it flies by’! I now know EXACTLY what they meant! Myself and Steve both so desperately wanted time to stop time and indulge in every second and every moment that passed of the day. There is so much happening, that time disappears before your very eyes.
I can hand on heart, truly say that there is not one thing we would change about the day. It came together so perfectly and exactly how we imagined it (and more)! Some may say that’s luck but I say it’s love, dedication and hard-work from both myself, Steve and my mum. Myself and my mum especially spent ages sourcing, planning, meeting suppliers, making props…it was like having another jobs at times but I must say, the best job!
As the famous quote goes ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’, so I truly hope you enjoy looking at just some of the hundreds of pictures that we have from our magical day, taken by the wonderful Kerrie Mitchell.
Please remember to check out some of my other blog posts, which focus more on individual elements of our wedding and the planning.
