I was recently approached by the super lovely and talented Sophie, the creative behind the event and party company Fable & Moon, to photograph a shoot she was styling for another small business-Tee By Charlotte West. The brief of the shoot was relaxed Summer days, kids being kids and capturing the comfort, ease and style of the t-shirts, within a dreamy and relaxed boho setting.
The day of the shoot was HOT! It was about 28C and that was at 3.30-4pm in the afternoon. New Hall Vineyards was our shoot location and it was a really beautiful setting at that time of day, with a soft golden glow cascading over the rows upon rows of vines.
One of my favourite things about this photo shoot was the diverse group of models we had on hand to help bring the products to life and help tell a story. Charlotte who is extremely clever and skilled at designing and printing all her own t-shirts herself, had her two adorable children on hand to model. She also cleverly pulled favours and asked parent friends from school if they would be interested in having their children included. The ages ranged from about 2-6 and there was a mix of boys and girls, different ethnicity’s and most of all, each child was amazing at bringing something unique to the shoot with their own personalities.
It was a fairly quick shoot, all set up and photographed within around two hours give or take. I’ve learnt with my experience that whenever you are working with little ones or animals, it’s best to work as quickly as you can-to stop them getting bored or tired! I can happily say they were all little pros and the whole shoot was so much fun! To top it all of, I have had wonderful feedback from both clients, which makes me happy and it all worthwhile. Charlotte bless her even admitted to feeling quite emotional when looking at them as she loved them so much.
Now as a photographer-that’s all you want to hear 🙂
